Safe Haven for Refugees Peterborough

Safe Haven

Safe Haven for Refugees was started by a group of local folks who shared the desire of bringing a Syrian family to safety in Canada. They partnered with the Roman Catholic Diocese of Peterborough and Grace United Church to undertake the long journey that has brought sisters Randa and Linda along with their children and Randa’s husband to Peterborough. Just over a year ago their parents Faez and Rwaida arrived and have settled into their new surrounds very well. Randa and her husband own and operate the Oasis Mediterranean Grill on George Street, the children have adapted and the older boys are soon heading to university. The family is forever grateful to the members of Grace United for their love and ongoing support during this time.
