Thinking about coming? If you are thinking about visiting us for the first time here are some things that would be helpful to know:
How Do I Get to Grace Church? Grace Church is located in the south end of Peterborough, below Lansdowne Street. We are on the corner of Monaghan road and Howden Street, directly across from Kenner collegiate.
What time are the services? We have two services each Sunday: a contemporary worship at 9:00 AM and a traditional service at 11:00 AM.
What if I have children? There is a children's program during our 9:00 a.m. Contemporary service.
How long are the services? Each service runs about an hour in length. Following each service, we have the opportunity for coffee together in the friendship area.
When should I arrive for the service? Most people arrive between 10 to 15 minutes before the service begins. If you are bringing children you'll want to have time to get to know the place and to be introduced to the Children's Ministry Director.
Which door do I use? You can enter into the church through the door from the parking lot. At the top of the stairs you'll be welcomed by one of our greeters who will help you feel comfortable within our congregation.
What is the music like? At the 9am contemporary service, we have the blessing of the worship band and sing some of the latest up-tempo Christian songs. We are also blessed with hearing some original songs written by members of the band. At the 11:00am traditional service, we sing some of the great traditional hymns of the Christian church and are blessed with the uplifting choral music of our choir and organ.
Is there a dress code? Absolutely not: just come as you are! We want you to feel comfortable as you spend this time with us. People usually come in anything from jeans to business casual.
Do I have to sing? Not if you don't feel comfortable. The words to every song are up on the screen at the front of the church and that makes it easy to sing along. It is completely up to you.
What does it cost to attend? There is no cost to come and worship. The members of our congregation are glad to provide you with this opportunity to be with us. So just come and enjoy!
Who is the speaker? Most weeks our speaker is Rev. Dr. Sharon Ballantyne who is the lead minister of our congregation. From time to time we are blessed to have a strong preaching staff of lay people.
