Lenten Greetings:
As we enter into Holy Week, we observe Palm/Passion Sunday. We will be having Communion so please ensure you have some food and drink ready to celebrate Eucharist together virtually. We continue to connect digitally and hope you will join in livestream or anytime on-line viewing via YouTube. Everyone is invited to join by Zoom for fellowship following Worship 2.
As per the Peterborough Public Health requests, I continue to work from home. Please phone, text, email, or arrange to face time or connect by Zoom.
One Roof Diner continues to appreciate our help so very much. Over and above the ever-present need for water, they said that toiletries/personal hygiene products are most needed, especially the following: shampoo, toothbrushes, razors, deodorant
Dawna Rhodenhizer can be contacted. She is willing to pick up any donations (call Dawna at 705.749.6450), and people are always welcome to drop them off at her house (904 Kawartha Drive, just in front of Westmount School). Any money that is donated will be spent on those specific items. Thanks so much for the support provided to One Roof.
Today Peterborough Public Health distributed the following update information to local places of worship:
Even if there is no longer a stay-at-home order in your area, staying home is still the best way to protect yourself and others. You are strongly advised to:
  • stay home as much as possible
  • avoid social gatherings
  • limit close contacts to your household
  • work from home if possible, and allow your employees to work from home if they can
  • avoid travel except for essential reasons
Peterborough Public Health Unit also shares that we are continuing in the red zone.
Today Age Friendly Peterborough sent the following update that might be of interest regarding Vaccines in Peterborough. They also shared about income tax centres.
Peterborough Public Health Update (provided March 25)
Vaccine appointments are now open for populations born in 1946. Before booking an appointment, it is recommended to review the vaccine consent form. This is a form that all residents must review at the vaccine appointment. Peterborough Public Health recommends reviewing the consent form before booking an appointment and consulting a physician if they have questions about their own health and the COVID-19 vaccine.
To book a vaccine appointment, residents can book online through the provincial online booking system at For those that prefer booking over the phone they can call the Peterborough vaccine booking centre which is staffed Monday to Friday 9am to 4pm. This centre can be reached at 249-494-5631.
Please note that more clinics are added to the booking system every day. If you cannot book an appointment, please be patient and try to book again the following day. It is also important to remember that once you are eligible to receive the vaccine you will remain eligible. If you cannot find a clinic to book at, there will always be more clinics in the future.
Tax Clinics
Fleming College’s accounting students are once again running tax clinics to help residents complete their income tax. Remaining dates for the clinic are March 31st, April 7th and April 14th, all from 11:00am to 3:00pm.
To be eligible for the clinic, the maximum family income must fall within:
1 person $35,000
2 persons $45,000
To book an appointment, you can email to [email protected] or phone 705-749-5530 ext. 1133.
