Thanksgiving Greetings
Thankyou to everyone for your generosity of thoughts, words and actions in the many ways you keep the many ministries going in the life and work of Grace United Church. It is not easy in this pandemic. Every prayer you offer, every connection with people in and outside our church, acts of kindness, responsibility and role undertaken, support given blesses. Thankyou for caring about this community of faith.
Amid the challenges of on-going pandemic, fourth wave realities and our desire to get back to regular activities, programs and all that we long for, we continue to embrace our attitude of gratitude, especially as we enter into this thanksgiving weekend. Perhaps you are able to gather as a family, perhaps it is another quiet weekend, with or without creative connecting via Zoom facetime or a phone conversation. We give thanks. As many struggle with the complexities, turning to the Psalms often provides opportunity to connect with our lament, confusions, our praise and our thanksgiving. Hebrew Scriptures scholar Walter Brueggemann categories the psalms into psalms of orientation, reorientation and disorientation. These three categories might also reflect how we find ourselves in experiencing daily life in this global pandemic time. Amid any chaos, connect with calm!
