Grace United Church

Breast Cancer Support Group

The Peterborough Breast Cancer Support Group is made up of women whose lives
have been touched by breast cancer

Their monthly self-help meetings are held on the second Tuesday of each month at Grace, from 7 pm to 9 pm.

We provide a safe place where you can share information, feel connected, understood, share laughter, tears and most importantly, find hope.

We offer telephone support, peer support, our monthly self-help meetings, and a lending library.

For more information you can call us at 705 745-7579.

What cancer cannot do:
Cancer is so limited ...
It cannot cripple love,
It cannot shatter hope,

It cannot corrode faith,
It cannot destroy peace,
It cannot kill friendship,
It cannot suppress memories,
It cannot silence courage,
It cannot invade the soul,
It cannot steal eternal life,
It cannot conquer the spirit.

The Canadian Breast Cancer Symbol:
Teardrop shape represents the tears we shed when diagnosed.
Pink Ribbon salutes the thousands of women who are diagnosed each year.
Black Lining honours the memory of the thousands of women who have died.
The challenge is to end the deaths so that we can remove the black lining and wear the pink ribbon in celebration.

This symbol was designed in July 1992 by Nora Deane, a Breast Cancer survivor who tirelessly continues to raise awareness of this dreadful disease.
