Grace United Church
Community Programs

Grace Church is active in supporting a number of outreach programs in the area, including the Brown Bag lunch program.  Twice a year our congregation contributes sandwiches, fruit, cookies and juice, which volunteers pack into lunch bags.  The lunches are distributed by our volunteers to those in need in downtown Peterborough.  This program is active from May through October on Sunday afternoons and is supported by a number of churches in the area.

On the second Sunday of Advent each year, Grace Church holds its White Gift services.  Everyone is encouraged to donate non-perishable food, unwrapped toys or monetary gifts for the Salvation Army Christmas Hamper program.  The children participate in this act of giving by bringing the gifts forward at Children's Time.

Every spring, a team of women and young people from Grace take part in the YWCA Walk to support Crossroads, a shelter for women and children.  Grace has participated in a Habitat for Humanity build, participating in the construction of a house across the road from the church.  We are also proud to host Telecare and Cancer Society training workshops when asked. Friends of Honduran Children comes to Grace Church for their Annual Meeting and to pack for the annual Medical Brigades.  Grace Church is one of the venues for the Annual Kiwanis Music Festival, which celebrates and nurtures the talent of young people throughout the region.
