A CLOSER LOOK
| A note from Lyle |
Making a Difference For Christ A closer look; is meant to provide information of the various ministries of Grace Church. Grace is a congregation that seeks to “Make a difference for Christ” in the lives of others through serving. All this is accomplished through the variety of ministries outlined here. You will be able to read about the many ways that the Ministry of Christ at Grace touches the lives of individuals, both inside and outside our congregation. As you read this, I hope you will be informed about all that is going on at Grace and grateful for the ways God is blessing our church through these ministries. Rev. Lyle Horn
Sunday Morning Worship
Each Sunday morning Grace Church offers two worship services. The 9:00 a.m. service is a Contemporary Worship service with music provided by a worship leader and band. Prayer and worship are inter-twined with sometimes quiet, sometimes rousing, but always reflective, music! During the 10:30 a.m. Traditional Worship service you will enjoy hymns and wonderful music by the Grace Choir. It is during worship that we have the unique opportunity to join others who believe, and to enter into the presence of God to find strength and courage to live out our faith during the week. This is accomplished through music, scripture reading, storytelling, a PowerPoint presentation, prayer and silence. It is as we gather in worship that we enter into God’s presence and are renewed by His love. Worship does make a difference! |

| Board of Management...Financial Advisory Committee...Trustees... |
Board of Management The Board has the overall responsibility to manage the directions and details of the Ministry of Christ at Grace. Their monthly meetings enable them to respond to issues of the church and be aware of all the wonderful ministry that is taking place. Most of the members at Grace will not ‘see’ the Board in action, yet the Board’s diligence and prayerful work helps to make Grace Church a positive place. The Board’s strong guidance makes a difference in the lives of many people, as their oversight keeps things moving smoothly.
Financial Advisory Committee This sub-committee of the Board of Management gives direction and ideas in managing the finances of Grace Church. Their goal is to make Grace Church a strong, viable church. Their direction makes a difference for Christ!
Trustees The Trustees of Grace have the responsibility of making sure that the facilities at Grace are in top shape. Their ministry is one of support, administration and encouragement to the various groups at Grace. Through their oversight we are assured of adequate space and the best possible facilities to keep the Ministry of Christ at Grace strong. In their quiet way, they make a difference! Ministry and Personnel This committee has the responsibility to ensure positive and healthy working relationships between staff members and the individuals of the congregation. They meet with staff several times each year to review their work environment and responsibilities. Through the Ministry and Personnel Committee’s strong working relationships with staff, a positive work environment enables the ministry of Grace to grow. Indeed this group makes a difference.

| Amazin’ Grace Ball Team... Women’s Ministry... Bible Study |
Amazin’ Grace Ball Team The group of men over 30 years of age have been in “the swing” for many years and meet each week during the baseball season to develop their skills on the fields and provide support and laughter to one another. The friendships and support that develop through this activity makes a difference.
Women’s Ministry The Women’s Ministry at Grace has long had a strong role in the Ministry of Christ. Through study, small groups and a commitment to the mission work of the church, the women of Grace have a positive impact within our congregation and these ladies continue to make a difference
Bible Study This area of ministry helps to deepen and strengthen faith and spiritual understanding in the lives of individuals within our church. Through prayer, conversation and study, the Spirit works in an invisible way to deepen the maturity level of our faith journey and enables individuals to find new resources to live life to the fullest. Times of study like this really make a difference! |

| Health Cabinet... Gentle Exercise & Stretching |
Health Cabinet The Health Cabinet is committed to providing programs and coordination of the health care programs at Grace. During their monthly meeting they plan and organize various health-care events such as blood pressure clinics and educational events around various health concerns: diabetes, healthy aging, for example and they also provide support and encouragement for the two Parish Nurses. Everything they do helps our congregation to enjoy improved health.
Gentle Exercise & Stretching What started as a falls prevention program for over 50’s has been so popular that it is now a regular feature at Grace! Open to all who are interested, this dedicated group meets each Monday morning at 9:30 a.m. for an hour of gentle exercise and stretching in the Upper Room at Grace. Often members of this group will go for a little lunch and fellowship afterwards! Carol Allen, one of our Parish Nurses is you mentor and guide and this time of exercise and fellowship truly provides a service which makes a difference! |

| Ministry of Compassion... Collective Kitchens. |
Ministry of Compassion This vital ministry is one of outreach; assisting those who are in need of food for their families at various times throughout the month. Every Tuesday morning volunteers and one of our Parish Nurses meet with individuals who come. The volunteers listen, assess, and provide support for the situation in which the individual finds themselves. These are most often people with young children. A combination of non-perishable groceries are given to the families along with bread donated through a local bakery and milk vouchers. The food and funds are donated by the people of Grace. If you could see the people as they leave, you would know for sure that this ministry makes a difference!
